Fun in the sun has its price.

Guess what everyone! I made it to Vegas!
WHOOP
And I made it to California!
Double WHOOP!
So, for the last two days, Brennen and I, and Brennen's fam
have been at
DISNEYLAND.
That's right. I remembered to bring my camera.
Prepare yourselves.

First of all, how presh is this picutre?
It makes me excited to have babies :)

California Adventure goes on forever!

First row of the TOWER OF TERROR

Disneyland isn't good enough for little Janers.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of Space Mountain looks like?
One of the cars started malfunctioning, so they turned on all the lights.
It's pretty intense.

I knew they were going to take my picture, so I smiled.
Haha.

I love Lucy's face on Splash Mountain.

This was at Thunder Mountain.
(There are too many mountains.)

This was the Jedi Training show that Jack wanted to see SO bad!
It was actually pretty good!

And last, but not least:
My souvenir from this trip:

A wicked awesome SUNBURN.
I didn't think i'd burn.
HA.
I should have known better.
Luckily I chose to wear my new one-piece swimsuit.
Or else i would be in my own personal heck.
Brennen keeps telling me that if i get another sunburn
i'm going to get skin cancer.
I just shrug it off and say
"I'm not going to get skin cancer.  If i was going to get skin cancer,
i would have gotten it a long time ago."
eh.....i'm a little worried now.
This is probably one of the WORST
sunburns I have EVER had. :(
it's going to be a rough night.

Deja Vu

So here I am, sitting in my most favorite place in the world,
Denver International Airport.

The flight from Des Moines to Denver was heaven.
Seriously.
We boarded ON TIME.
We left ON TIME.
We NEVER SWITCHED gates.
On the 1 hour 20 minute flight, I had managed to fill my bladder to capacity
and practically knocked people over on my way off the airplane
to get to the bathroom.
I found my gate, and looked at the screen which said,
"Next Flight: San Francisco, CA 4:26 pm"
(Or something to that effect.)
Great.

Well, so far we're just waiting for the flight coming in and it's only
been delayed 30 minutes.
We'll see what happens though.  I don't have much faith in this airline.

Day 4!

My last day in Des Moines!  I am actually happy to leave...
I don't really like it here.
Well I like it here, I just don't really like the people I've been working with for the last couple of days :(
I miss my Rexburg donors..

In other news, today was SHOPPING DAY!
I saw a commercial for this place on tv the other day:

It's like Ross, but a million times better.  It's officially my fav store.
John, the "security guard" at the Des Moines center
couldn't belive
"YOU DON'T HAVE A GORDMANS?!"

And once I stepped inside, I had the exact same thought.
It'a about the size of both floors of the
Dillards in Idaho Falls, and sells
Clothes for men,
Women, and
Children.
Shoes,
Handbags,
Jewlery,
Toys,
Fragrances
and Home Decor.

Tank: 15 (Orig. 30)
Jacket: 8 (Orig 20)
Necklace: 6 (Orig 20)
(ignore the deer-in-the-headlights eyes)

Top: 12 (Orig 23)
Necklace: 6

T: 5 (Orig 10)

So, there's something that you should know about me and shopping:
1. I don't really care about pants and
2. I shop in neutrals.
Meaning, I don't buy bottoms very often,
and
a lot of the stuff I buy is either
White,
Black,
Gray,
Tan, and
Brown.
This T is a bright, fluorescent, pink.
It's my "OUT THERE" shirt.
It will be fun for Cali.

I also threw in one of these babies for the hubs:

Paid: 63 (Orig 88).

This is the Hub's fave.  He ran out a few months after we got married
and we've been looking at some for a while, but just
didn't think we could dish out that much money.
When i found this on sale, I had to get it.
I even put a little on because I LOVE the way it smells!
Except it makes me miss Brennen a lot :(
But! I'll see him tomorrow! :)

Days 3 and 4..

So, yesterday was our first day at the plasma center.

Gettin ready for work is the hardest part!  Haha.
Yesterday I slept through my alarm and woke up like 10 minutes
before we were going to eat breakfast.
So, no shower for that day.

(These were taken today
when i DID shower)

Let me tell you, it's a different experience.
smoke breaks,
cursing,
tongue rings,
and tattoos.
EVERYWHERE.

I live in such a bubble.

But this is such a good thing for me because
i'll probably end up in
West Virginia,
Pittsburgh,
Philadelphia,
Vegas,
Mesa,
Alabama,
Etc.
Not Utah and not Idaho.

I am building an immunity to second-hand smoke.
I am not looking at people on the streets.
I will sure miss Rexburg/Idaho Falls,
but it's time to move on
and say hello to the rest of the world.

Day 2

Today started with yummy free breakfast from the hotel that the airline set us up in.  Lots of good stuff.  Then we jumped on the shuttle to the airport (wearing everything "yesterday").

We already had our boarding passes so all we had to do was go through security and find our gate.  Once we got to the gate, one of our fellow passengers informed us that the flight was delayed for 2 hours.  Sweet.  So we pop-a-squat and prepare ourselves for a long wait.  This whole time I'm trying to connect to the internet and it was making me so mad i wanted to throw my computer through the wall.  So we're sitting there and discover that our gate has been changed.  Well to make a long story slightly shorter, 4 hours and 6 gates later, we finally take off.  We end up in Des Moines at 4 pm, only 28 hours after we were supposed to.  Then we get to the rental car place and they tell  us they don't have a car for us.  Great.  We finally got our car (which, by the way, is the nicest car I have ever driven) and headed to the Des Moines center, 2 hours before close.  They basically told us to come back tomorrow after we had showered.  Then we got to our hotel and drove around the block about 6 times because we didn't know which building was ours/where to park.  Then we got to our rooms.  HOLY SMOKES.

I have a dining room table.  Freak this is going to be a great week!

P.S.
Family pictures sneak peek here. Check em.

So, Change of Plans

Turns out our flight to Des Moines was overbooked.  [shocked me]... So we ended up getting kicked off our flight.  This meant that they wouldn't be able to get us to Iowa until tomorrow morning.  We were pretty ticked off.  But there was a silver lining to all this.
1. The airline paid for us to stay in the Hilton in Denver overnight. [$80]
2.  They bought us lunch, dinner, and breakfast tomorrow. [$30]
3.  They refunded us 400% the price of our flight because they couldn't get us on another flight within 4 hours.  So right then and there they wrote me a check for...$1300!

HOLY. SMOKES.

Everyone, PAY YOUR TITHING and you will be BLESSED!

I can't even begin to tell you how much we can use that money right now.  We didn't really know if this trip would really be worth it, but we're beginning to think it is.

The view from up here

I'm currently sitting in the Denver International Airport waiting for my connecting flight to Des Moines IA.  That's right.  Iowa. What am I doing in Iowa, you ask? Working.  The plasma center in Des Moines needs some help, so they're paying for me to come out for a week and help them out.  I know. Iowa.  But it's a lot further away than Logan and Orem.
