Remember us?

Yep, we're still here.

It's been so long, I don't even really know where to start.

Well, I guess you should know that today is Ash Wednesday.

That means it's the first day of Lent.

Last year I participated in Lent by giving up social media for 40 days

(excluding Sundays).

I've decided to do that again this year.

So, no Facebook,

no Instagram,

until after Easter! I'm excited.

And I know I can do it, because I've done it before.

I'm also giving up "The Soda Shop."

It's this cute little place here that makes specialty sodas

and has the BEST sugar cookies.

I go there about 2 or 3 times a week...

so, to avoid getting diabetes, I'm giving it up until

after Easter.

Hopefully I'll remember to post more on our blog, 

even though our lives are pretty boring.

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to.

We got a new camera for graduation last year, and one of my

goals this year is to learn how to use it to take 

really good pictures.  I don't want to become a professional 

photographer or anything, just want to take professional quality photos

of our daily lives.

I have a lot of friends that are photographers and when I start to read

about shutter speed and aperture, and ISO, 

I have so must more respect for them.

Tanner LOVES the water, no matter how cold it is! 

Whenever we go to the lake, he runs right to it,

which is a parent's worst nightmare, right?!

We love to take the kayak out on the lake, and even have a little life jacket so

Tanner can come too.

He hates the life jacket, but is ok once we get on the water.

He loves spending time running around outside! His favorite things to do are:
Running into the parking lot,
picking up rocks and throwing them,
picking up rocks and eating them,
chasing birds,
and touching other people's cars.

We also bought a Zoo membership so we can go whenever we want!
Tanner is starting to love animals, so it's fun to take him to
see things other than birds and dogs.
I take a lot of pictures at the zoo too.

We also celebrated Tanner's first birthday in November.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Kite-flying days here are few, so when the wind picked up we took advantage and flew the Cinderella kite that has been chilling in the trunk of our car for a while.  It was super fun!

Tanner @ 9 months

I can't believe my little guy is 9 MONTHS OLD.  Where has the time gone? I'll have a one-year-old in 3 months.  That's crazy talk.  We also got a new camera. A nice one. THAT was a freaking fiasco. Anyways, I thought I'd snap some pics of him being him and doing what he loves.

•  Crawls like crazy, pulls himself up on things, stands on his own for a few seconds.

•  Likes to play with doors, cupboards, drawers, etc. Anything that moves.  Likes to shut the door on us.  

•  Loves to discover and put new things in his mouth.  This was him checking out the camera.

•  Loves to play with his train (because it moves), piano, and singing hammer.

• Eats baby food, Gerber Puffs, Yogurt Melts, and 'lil Crunchies. Has started eating real human food like rice and waffles.....and ice cream....and brownies, and oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies.
• Loves to facetime Grandmas and Grandpas.
• Wears size 4 diapers and 9 month clothes
• His best friend is Bowser the Bearded Dragon--and daddy.
• Says "Dadadadada"
• No teeth
• Gets compliments on his big blue eyes wherever he goes
• Doesn't like you to hold his hands or arms
• Getting dressed is a nightmare.
• Would totally go commando if it was up to him.

We love this little dude! It is so fun to see his personality come out! He is such an independent little guy, never wants you to do anything for him (except give him food and love!).  He brings such a sweet spirit into our home.  He loves to play with daddy and thinks he's hilarious.  His big, wet, slobbery kisses are the best, and he isn't stingy with them! Love our Tan Man!
